It just seemed odd to me that after completing the brotherhood mission, I couldn't access ANY of the missions. The fight club respect that I earned answered my question, when the respect bar fills up you get an added +1 presumably meaning that's how many missions you can do after another. What I was asking is that I got a lot of respect, that it filled the bar multiple times, it seemed to me that when I did the brotherhood mission (no active mission) that all my respect sort of reset, preventing me from doing more active missions upon completing a mission not one mission was available to me. I still don't have all the answers I want though. I sort of figured it out when I was finishing off the fight club action. If I didn't understand your question correctly, I apologize.
You *can* however do, say, one Brotherhood mission and then one Ronin mission, or a few of each gang here and there, so you're not forced to do the entire storyline for a single gang all at once.
That's not accounting for activities and diversions.
I'm pretty sure you can only have one active mission at a time, period.
